Here is the 100mm, shot with the 35L…

This lens has definitely become one of Walter’s favorite lenses, but I love it too. It makes the ring shots look so amazing & the detail shots are very sharp with it.

Here is the 35L, shot with the 100mm…

This lens has become my favorite, it has such amazing color & is so incredibly sharp. I am not used to shooting as much with a wide angle, that’s the only thing I will have to get used to. I know though this will be my go-to lens from now on though!

Here is my first shot with it, to test it out. It looks lovely even in the dark Lowe’s parking lot!

This one was just for fun! I figured I would share it. I accidentally shrunk him somehow? Or maybe there was just a huge leaf… Oh dear I can’t remember!

I am so excited to get to use this amazing camera out at a wedding! My last portrait session I hope to share soon I shot with it. I can’t wait to play with the video on the camera either, I think we can use it for some amazing things!

I can finally reveal this great big news! There is a brand new portrait & wedding site!

I am so excited about this and have been working on it for weeks. Now the wedding & portrait sites are very similar, so that navigation will be easier. The galleries & the information pages are updated as well. There is also updated contact forms to make everything easier for both you & me.

The changes weren’t over at the beginning of the year, nor are they quite over yet! I have had a few more changes in my business that are HUGE (and that spurred some more changes coming soon!)

The biggest change right now, is that I am now using a client management software called Tave. It’s honestly a lifesaver and I don’t know how I functioned before it. (and I just started using it too!) I have been spending my past few weeks trying to get it set up and organized. It helps me out so much because all my clients info, quotes, prices, contracts, emails, and so much more are all in one place & easy to find. If you are a photographer and don’t use this GET IT NOW seriously. There are a lot of new things coming in March at WPPI they said too.

What does this mean for clients? This is what I am most excited about. You may have noticed my contact forms are different. I now have contact.heathergarlandweddings.com & contact.heathergarlandportraits.com, this is because when you fill this out it automatically adds your info into my system in the right category! This helps me get a quote so much faster to you!

The biggest change is contracts are now ONLINE! Yes, they are legal and it records a digital footprint when you sign it. This is great because ink, paper, & printing took too much money, time, and was wasteful. Now all I will print is price sheets (or email them if you would rather!). This helps so much, especially at sessions, because it took a lot of time to get everything filled out before we started shooting. Now you just fill out the contract beforehand and we are ready to go.

You can also make payments (it will remind you of them too!) and fill in all your contact info like your birthday, shipping address, etc. You will have your own login too. I will email you a link where you set up a password and then just login in to client.heathergarlandportraits.com or client.heathergarlandweddings.com. Exciting right?

Also, I have a new work schedule for 2010, which may effect you. It may change slightly, but after trying a few different schedules, this one should fit. The biggest change is instead of blogging MWF, I will blog on TTH and possibly Saturday or Sunday if I have a lot for the week. Another big change is I will only mail products on Wednesday. I know this may be inconvenient if you need your products ASAP, I can make special exceptions though if you let me know. The reason I am doing this is because I tend to make random trips to the post office 2-3 times a week and it takes a LOT of time. I just wanted to share this just so everyone could know when to expect products and when to expect blog posts. Also, it just gives you a little insight into my life.
