I wanted to tell everyone that if you book a session before New Years you will secure 2008 pricing! I am not necessarily changing my prices in January but I am going to change structure and this could change pricing a little bit. Trust me this will benefit you! I have been noticing exactly what all my clients want in packages and though I LOVE making custom packages for everyone, why not take the custom packages I made for them, and make them my actual packages?

I will be offering high-resolution disks with the majority of my packages starting in January because each client wants one, now-a-days! I also have a brand new sample album to show at consultation meetings, I love it! I hope you do too!

Back on topic though, the new website, (or should I say websites) are now up. There is a lot of new cool information on the wedding website to help a lot of people have more information about me and make things easier to find. So how are you liking the new website? I want all your opinions on it. Is it easier? Harder? Cooler? Lay it on me!

Also the portrait website, hasn’t changed too much, however it has been tweaked to make it more understandable. The biggest change to note is now with portrait sessions you either get an 8×8 Soft Cover Coffee Table book or a $50 print credit! Yay! Also I am running a maternity+newborn special. You get both sessions for $300 instead of the usual $200 for each, plus a coffee table book or $50 print credit. This is a limited time offer, however if it becomes popular I might just keep it going!

Another thing I am going to start doing since it is the wedding off-season, I am going to start blogging about more personal things about my life. You know, all the random stuff? The first one will probably be about my new fish, Flash. He is really cute. I want to give my loyal blog readers something to read since there is not as many photo posts that will be going up. I also want to give clients a little bit of an insight into my goofy life, so they can feel like they know me a little better.

That said, WHAT DO YOU GUYS WANT TO KNOW ABOUT ME? I know I will run out of things to talk about and I want to talk about things you want to hear. So tell me now!

I spend a couple hours during a consultation meeting with you to show you pricing, discuss a wedding time line, help you figure out which package you want and need, go over necessary details, answer any questions, and then sign contracts.

Then I spend a couple hours photographing your engagement session or bridal portraits, and getting to know you before the wedding. Then spend hours editing those photos and help you pick out your favorite for your complimentary 11×14 styrene board print for your wedding day. Then print any other photos you want, or possibly help you design a photo guest book (see price list for pricing).

At your wedding, I will spend my whole day pouring into your photos, making sure I have everything right and am making the best photos possible. When I get home and spend a couple hours sorting through your photos to find every photo that turned out great and sort those out to find the best for extra editing. Then I spend hours individually making sure each image looks great for proofing. After proofing and you order your prints, I then extensively edit your photos to make them excellent prints. Then after you decide your favorite photos, I spend many hours designing you a custom, beautiful wedding album to document every aspect of your day. Then I get your prints & album and wrap them up special for you. There is also a DVD of your favorite photos set to music and a low-resolution CD of your favorite images.

After an interesting vacation in Arizona, where I was suspended from my old host because I had too much site traffic, to my lifesaver Melissa Ann. She sold me an awesome bludomain template and offered me some free hosting for 6 months just in time, to getting a new logo. I decided everything needed a change, so here it is a MAJOR change in Heather Garland Photography.

A step up, a fresh start, a new beginning, change. I have worked so hard for 2 weeks, to work with Tracy and get an awesome logo and watermark. I have written pages, changed pricing, and worked on my business also. It has been great. This blog also changes, instead of my absurd blogs I normally do this blog is now more geared toward my clients. This blog will hold sneak peaks of their sessions, along with any business information, basically anything photography related check here. I would love regular visitors and comments on anything you would like. That said please come back!

Now to what could be confusion about changes. Yes, you heard me I changed pricing. Just because I said changed does not mean I necessarily changed them. What happened before was I charged per hour for shooting and editing. Well this was annoying and unfair to both the client and myself and we had to rush through taking the photos, lost the fun, and could lose the quality. Also, sometimes it was frustrating to the client that I could not tell them how much it would be because I did not know. So I decided with all this change that should change also. I took the average I had been charging for each session and simply set a price. So please do not get excited when you see new pricing. It really isn’t more, its just different.

So look around for more changes all over the site, some policies might have changed. I have lived and learned with this business and those learning experiences resulted in this change.
