My last mini-session was with an incredible couple, Leigha & Jason, from Greenville! I was so glad they drove down to be part of the mini-sessions. I had so much fun getting to know them (even though we didn’t have much time!) They were such an amazing couple, and were so easy to take pictures of. I didn’t even have to ask for laughs and smiles, they just had so much fun, they came naturally. I love having a couple that can have fun together and Leigha & Jason were definitely that couple!

Engagement – Elyse and Jesse // Charlotte, NC

This is kind of a strange engagement because this dear couple were models for our first Charlotte photographer meet-up! They had me, Camille, Whitney, Neil, Rolf, Stephen, and Aaron ALL to shoot their engagement session in downtown Charlotte at night! I think everyone thought they were celebrities to have THAT MANY cameras pointed at them at once. I had an absolute blast getting to know these wonderful photographers and also getting to know Elyse and Jesse. They were so patient as we tried all of our crazy lighting ideas and never once (well maybe just once!) looked at us crazy when we said can you stand here and do this! I hope they have a wonderful wedding in Vermont this summer! Don’t forget to check out the slideshow at the end for more photos.

I have never done a shoot at night before but it was really fun! It is a lot different using lights at night than during the day, but it was really interesting to try it out! It was also, quite amusing how many stories we got from homeless men about why should give them money. My favorite was they guy needing $3 for the light rail when it only costs $1.25!

I love this series of images, I just couldn’t leave one image out. We were waiting for a car to go speeding by, and Elyse and Jesse were just ignoring us for a bit and the images are so natural.

Engagement – Jill & Ed // Outer Banks, NC

I might have to disappoint some loyal blog readers. There will not be a get-to-know-me Thursday this week! I am actually going to be with my church this whole weekend, leading a group of 7th grade girls at a retreat called 180 weekend (if you are in Gaston County, I am sure you have heard of it!) So because of this I will not have time to blog about this awesome engagement session I had last week and I am dying to show everyone!

Jill and Ed are a super sweet couple and I absolutely can not wait to photograph their wedding in April. They both live in Maryland, however are getting married in the GORGEOUS Outer Banks! I had never been to the Outer Banks before their Engagement Session. (It may sound crazy but if you live in NC you KNOW how long a drive it is!) It was freezing this day and in the 20s, but Jill and Ed were so great about it and even though we ran inside constantly to feel our fingers again, we had a blast! They are so cute together and were absolutely wonderful to photograph. It is amazing when love just pours into the photos you are taking and instead of directing the couple you simply let them talk and laugh and love each other! I hope their love and joy of getting married shows through in the photos because they are truly wonderful together! Thanks Jill and Ed for letting me take your Engagement and Wedding photos, I can’t wait until April!

I can not wait to take a second trip down to the Outer Banks for this wonderful couple’s wedding!

This beautiful woman you are about to see in these pictures, is my soon-to-be Aunt Heather. Yes, we have the same name, and yes it is already VERY confusing sometimes! She is marrying my mom’s only brother, and I am very excited for them. She wanted me to shoot her engagement photos plus I get to pass out the programs at the wedding. How Exciting! (plus that meant a really pretty new dress!!) As much as I tried, I could not get my Uncle in a photo. He hates having his photo taken just as much as I do. But we do both enjoy taking photos. He is the awesome guy who lent me a back-up camera for my two weddings, so he is REALLY cool. Heather and I had a blast though taking about 30 minutes to shoot some beautiful pictures of the already very beautiful woman. Doesn’t she have the most brilliant eyes??

So I am very excited about going to their wedding in September and I enjoyed taking her engagement photos!!
