Sorry to everyone for not posting a Get-To-Know-Me Thursday! I wanted to wait until today! (I know it doesn’t say it in the title but it is a Get-To-Know-Me Thursday!) I just got a brand new lens yesterday so I wanted to show it off! (I have lots of new products under wraps right now that I can’t wait to show off soon too!)
First off, if you ever wanted to see me in action, Julie Mixon sent me this picture I forgot to show off!

Now onto the equipment… I shoot with a Canon 5d, and have a Canon 30d for backup! I wanted to show everyone the lens I most use. I haven’t posted up a lot of my new equipment so I wanted to show them off! (I have backup gear too, but I use these lenses the most! Backup gear is: Sigma 17-70mm, Sigma 70-300mm, and Canon 50mm f/1.8)

Canon 50mm f/1.4, 28mm f/1.8, 85mm f/1.8
These are my go-to portrait session lenses. The Canon 50mm f/1.4 is on my camera 90% of the time, (I lovee this lens!) however I pull out the 28mm f/1.8 if I need a wider lens, and the 85mm f/1.8 if I want something closer. I adore the sharpness of these primes!

LEFT: This is one of my newer babies (yes they are my babies!) I know I am going to love it for weddings but I got it in off-season so I haven’t had the chance yet! I love it during the portrait sessions I have used it in. It will be perfect for receptions! The color and sharpness out of the L lenses are AMAZING! RIGHT: Now…. my newest baby! I just got this lens yesterday night! Wow I love the sharpness and color that comes out of this lens! I also love the IS on this lens, I tested it out last night at ISO 6400, very sharp even at 1/50 zoomed to 200mm!
Here are some pictures I took today to test it out:
These were shot at 200mm f/2.8:

My cat who is scared of cameras was at least a little bit cooperative since I was pretty far away… except at first when she thought I wanted to steal the bird she had just killed!

I absolutely love the lens so far, and can not wait until I can try it out at a portrait session and it is going to be great for wedding ceremonies! I have a Senior Shoot I can’t wait for on Sunday and a meet-up with some local photographers on Monday! So I will have lots of pictures to post this week.
