I have been waiting patiently for someone to book a maternity session, and I was so excited when I got an email from Stephanie & Matt saying they wanted one! I wanted a maternity session, so that I could show off how different my style of maternity photos is. I like to do a perfectly normal portrait or couples session (depending on if your husband wants in, which I always suggest!). The reason I like to do just a portrait/couples session instead of focusing only the belly, is because when I do a portrait/couples session they can be themselves and have their personality and beauty be the main point of a picture. You can miss the glowing and happy mother, which is really important, if you don’t have her face in the picture. You can also miss the love shared between the husband and wife if you don’t include him in some of the pictures.

We did Stephanie & Matt’s maternity pictures in downtown Charlotte. I hadn’t shot in Charlotte a lot so it was a lot of fun. They are actually from Greenville, NC so I was really glad they came all the way down to Charlotte for the maternity session. I am also doing Stephanie & Matt’s newborn session in September in Greenville and I am really excited about it.
